개인 통역, 번역 담당자 ChatGPT, 내 영어수준에 맞는 번역기 만들기.

ChatGPT 어디까지 쓰시나요? 

 

아마도 안써보신분은 있어도 한번 써본분은 없을것 같은 ChatGPT 어디까지 사용하시나요? 

 

이제 ChatGPT가 저의 일상에 들어온지도 거의 1년이 다되어 갑니다. 

그 와중에 아주 많은 데이터가 생기고 있는것 같아요. 

물론 여전히 더 많은 사용 방법이 있을테고, 더 넓게 사용할 수 있겠지만 아직은 저에게 통역, 번역을 담담해주는 것이 주 업무인것 같습니다. 

 

영어로 업무를 하시는 분들중에서는 구글번역기나 파파고 같은 번역사이트를 사용하지 않는 분들은 없으리라 생각합니다.

왜냐하면 쓸때는 그렇다하더라도, 읽을때는 귀찮으니까요..... 

 

그런데 ChatGPT가 나오고 난 후에는 제가 작성한 글에 대한 번역도 ChatGPT에 맡기는 경우가 종종 있었습니다.

가장 사용을 활발하게 했던 2023년 8~10월사이에요. 

 

그때는 정말 너무나도 신세계였던것 같습니다. 

한글을 잘만 작성하면, 또 구글 번역기에 넣고 조금만 수정을 한다면 너무나도 좋은 비서역할을 해주었으니까요. 

왜 비서라고 말씀드리냐면, 제가 쓴 글을 영어로 변환해달라고 하면 군더더기 없이 깔끔한 내용으로 영문을 작성해주니까요. 

 

그런데 어느날 미국 클라이언트에게서 받은 메일에 놀람을 금치 못했습니다. 

"I see you’re using Chat GPT or other AI to write your emails for you."

 

메일을 받고 저는 바로 이실직고 했죠, 

 

Yes, I use “Grammarly” and “Chat GPT” to correct or support my writing.  I feel helpful with this software, But you catch me that I use AI;;;. 
I hope It will make me better and smooth in the future for my work and writing(if no problem).
The bad effect I feel is, it makes me being lazy to reading and writing English. And much more focusing on grammar mistake compare to past. Maybe that’s one of goal of AI, "The Human stop thinking". 

 

물론 ChatGPT를 온전히 영문 번역에 사용하기에는 간혹 어려운 단어와 문장 구조를 사용하니, 자주 이야기하던 영어권 담당자는 해당 사실을 눈치챌 수 밖에 없었나봅니다. 

물론 비영어권(아시아, 유럽)의 고객들과 소통하는데는 문제가 없습니다.

(물론 구글 번역기에 붙여넣고 제가 원하는 방향으로 수정 보완을 하기는 합니다.)

 

해서 오늘은 어떻게 조금더 내가 원하는 방향으로 영문 작성을 할 수 있는지 알아보려고 합니다. 

앞서 ChatGPT의 작동방법의 한가지는 "동일한 채팅방에서는 앞의 채팅기록이 결과에 영향을 미친다" 입니다. 

해서 ChatGPT와 원활한 대화와 결과를 얻기 위해서는 해당 채팅방에서 사전 대화를 충분히 한다면,

또 일관성 있는 요청을 한다면 본인이 원하는 결과물에 더 가깝게 다가가지 않을까 싶습니다. 

 

 

 

영어 번역을 위해서 먼저 ChatGPT에 물어볼 내용을 작성해보도록 하겠습니다. 

사실 ChatGPT는 어떤 내용을 입력하더라도 원하는 결과에 유사하게 가져오다보니 한글을 어떻게 적는지가 매우 중요합니다.

문장 구조를 한글 구조가 아닌 영문구조로 적는다거나, 원하는 문맥에 맞게 문장을 짧게 구성하고 쉼표와 마침표로 구분하는 것도 중요하다고 생각합니다.

차이가 나는게 확연히 눈에 보이네요. 

위와 같이 내용을 수준을 구분해서 사용하려면 반드시 다른 채팅창을 사용할 것을 추천드립니다.
